PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT

The primary objective of the Burke Basketball House Program is to provide a positive and constructive environment for the children of our community to learn to play and enjoy the game of basketball. 

In addition to learning basic basketball skills, it is our intent our players to learn the basic concepts of sportsmanship and fair play.

In order to achieve these objectives, each player is required to:

- Know the rules of the game and abide by them.- Respect the game officials and refrain from addressing them or commenting on their decisions during the play of the game.-Maintain control of his/her emotions and avoid the using abusive language.

-Respect the coaches and players of the opposing team.

-Follow all building rules and regulations, respecting at all times the property of others.

-Be aware that there is to be no shooting at baskets during time outs or intermission of games that are in progress.

-Realize, accept, and practice the principle that a team’s reputation is built not only on its playing ability but also on the sportsmanship, courtesy and manners of each individual player.
- Follow all rules established by Burke Basketball.  
Remember that House Basketball is a game, and games should be played for fun. Winning is nice, however, not the primary objective of House Basketball.

Section II
COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

The primary objective of the Burke Basketball House Program is to create a positive and constructive environment for the children of our community to learn to play and enjoy the game of basketball. 

In addition to teaching the basic skills, Burke coaches should strive to make House Basketball a fun and enjoyable experience for all participants. Coaches will be working with a wide range of skill levels, however, they should emphasize that this is a team sport and make every effort to maximize playing time for all participants.  Even though we all want to have winning teams, the coaches primary focus should be teaching the basics of the game, fair play, and sportsmanship.

- Know the rules and abide by them.
- Respect the game officials and refrain from addressing them or commenting on their decisions during the play of the game.
- Ensure that fans of his/her team conduct themselves in a positive manner.
- Maintain control of his/her emotions and avoid the use of abusive language.
- Respect the coaches and players of the opposing team both during the play of the game and at its conclusion, win or lose.
- Teach each player to be humble and generous in victory and proud and courteous in defeat.
- Maintain control of his/her emotions and avoid actions, language, and/or gestures that may be interpreted as hostile and humiliating.
- Strive to create a positive and constructive environment for your players to learn to play and enjoy the game.
- Remember that basketball is a game and games should be played for fun.

SPECTATORS CODE OF CONDUCT

The primary objective of the Burke Basketball House Program is to provide a positive and constructive environment for the children of our community to learn to play and enjoy the game of basketball. 

In addition to learning basic basketball skills, it is our intent for players to learn the basic concepts of sportsmanship and fair play.

In order to achieve these objectives, each spectator should:

- Respect the rules of the game.
- Respect the game officials and refrain from questioning and commenting on their decisions.
- Cheer for your team in a positive, constructive, and supportive manner. Cheer for your team and not against the opposition. Refraining at all times from making hostile, negative, or abusive remarks about the opposing team.
- Follow all building rules and regulations, respecting at all times the property of others. Be aware that there is to be no shooting at baskets during time outs or intermission of games that are in progress. 
- Before each games, only the teams warming up for the next game should be shooting at the baskets. SPECTATORS SHOULD NEVER BRING BALLS INTO ANY GAME SITE GYM.
- Strive to create a positive and constructive environment for your players to learn to play and enjoy the game.
- Follow all rules established by Burke Basketball.
Remember that House Basketball is a game, and games should be played for fun. Winning is nice, however, not the primary objective of House Basketball.

• Injuries early in the season
• Players who do not end up playing any games, because of conflicts that become known before the season games begin
• Players who were on the Waiting List and did not get placed on a team
• Adult League Players who are not assigned to a team
• No partial refunds 

All Refunds will be processed in the same form it was paid. A Processing Fee of $5.00 will be deducted from the Original fee paid.

There will be NO Refunds on Late Fees or Donations.

By opting in, you grant permission for Burke Basketball to use your/your child's image on our website and/or social media account(s) without further consideration. You also understand that this permission will be granted until we are otherwise notified, may not be revoked retroactively, and that no names will be used unless specific, written permission is given to Burke Basketball.
